Hello all :

I'm giving a scenario below and would like to know if its possible to configure Squid as a reverse proxy server for Open Exchange Email Server.

Presently, the Open Exchange Server using IMAP (ox-mail server) is inside the firewall (cisco pix). I'd like to put Proxy on the dmz and have the web based mail users be able to download emails from ox-mail server. The clear purpose of having a reverse proxy is to redirect the incoming traffic from the internet and point it to ox-mail server. We do not want to house the ox-mail server on the dmz and would like to use SSL. Also, we don't want the proxy server to cache the pages but just be able to connect o -x-mail server and bring back the users request on either port 80 or 443.

We have a DNS server sitting on dmz and its hosts file contains the outside address of ox-mail server for Proxy.

Will this scenario work? Or can anyone point me to a good documentation ?

thanks in advance,
