It shouldn't pop up a box, if ALL the following are true:
- squid is correctly set up and configured
- samba is correctly set up and joined to a domain
- the user is logged-in either to the same domain as squid OR to a
domain trusted by the domain the squid box belongs to
- the user's browser is configured to automatically send credentials to
servers in the INTRANET zone (IIRC)
