Most probably a bug in RH 7.2

I want to report a possible bug in RedHat 7.2 for S/390. It seems that
the affected command is "ifconfig".
My machine is RA6 with OSA-2 network card (Ethernet connection). I was
trying to install RedHat to run in LPAR mode.
First, "ifconfig" was invoked by rhsetup script and caused the system
to hang up. On HMC console the following message appeared:

Unable to handle kernel pointer dereference at virtual kernel address
7ffff000
Oops: 0010
CPU: 0
Process ifconfig (pid: 9829 , stackpage=0BB9D000)
Kernel PSW: 040810000 8001bd1e Not tainted
task: 0bb9c000 ksp: 0bb9dc40 pt_regs: 0bb9dba8

After some changes in the rhsetup script (made and delivered to me by
Mark Post) I was finally able to get the system to the first
post-installation IPL. However, when the system was coming up "ifconfig"
was invoked again, causing the same Oops and making the system
unaccessible from the network, an thus unusable.

- I was using the complete RedHat distribution obtained from
ftp.redhat.com. All files were tested and proved to be correct.

- The same OSA-2 card (in Ethernet mode) was used in the same
configuration by other systems (SuSE Linux among others) and worked very
well.

This is a short description of the problem. I will provide any other
details if anyone is interested.

I am looking forward to hearing from someone from RedHat.

Best Regards,

Maciek
