That worked! Thanks.  And I did use the double slashes after the server
name.

BTW Failed to install at 64Mb, but installed with 128Mb.

I have tested it, and it does work.  wget seems to do something odd with the
paths after the server name when you do this, though.  You may have to what
I did:
RPMSERVER=ftp://userid:password@ftp.server.name//home/userid/pub/RedHat/linu
x/rawhide/s390

Note the double slashes after the server name.

I didn't test it here, but it should be possible to add username and
password
to the RPMSERVER line in your .param file:
RPMSERVER=ftp://username:password@ftpserver/directory
