Does anyone know where i can find out more about installing tape suport. I have the new rh system installed. Tape is attached and sensed by linux at IPL(boot) but lsmod does not show a tape390.o module installed. Also, there is no /dev/rtibm0 or other tape device nodes (how do these get created?).........(much later)......... Found the MAKEDEV program but it fails with 'dont know how to make dev ntibm.0 Checked makedev.d directory but nothing looks like it would be a tape definition file. Any ideas where to begin? What would be the sequence to start over? thanks
