I'm working on an IBM redbook about Linux/390 distributions. We had hoped to have a chapter about journaling file systems in the book. I've just spent a very frustrating number of hours trying to get mkreiserfs to work on a Linux/390 system, and eventually got to the point where it was spitting out a message that big-endian architectures are not supported. I then found a linux-kernel mailing list posting from Alan Cox that also mentioned reiserfs not supporting big-endian machines when Red Hat 7.1 was being prepared for distribution. Is that _still_ the case? Are we (literally) wasting our time trying to get this to work on Linux/390 at this time? Anyone with _definite_ information about this, as opposed to "I heard so-and-so'? Thanks in advance. Mark Post
