That was probably only part of the answer. The gcc in there is the newest
"experimental gcc" that can be found from the IBM web pages. It seems to
have all defects fixed that I knew about the older versions.
Please tell me if you find new ones.

FYI: Instead of using gcc 2.95.2, I have updated to gcc 2.95.3 + cvs patches.

As also glibc is updated to have assembler string functions, everything
is a lot faster now. :-)

The redhat.com version is broken at the moment.
