: Hi All,
:
: This group has been really helped a lot while developing rpm's without
: any prior knowledge.I am not sure whethere this is the correct group
: to ask this question but would like to post it.I would like place an
: ICON in the desktop itself instead of in the startMenu for both KDE
: and GNOME.It would be really helpful for me if some one can answer
: this question.
:
: Thanks in advance... Shekhar.

Best place to look for this information is freedesktop.org:

    http://www.freedesktop.org/

If it's not in any standard or draft standard, choose the most
appropriate mailing list there. Also, see this message from one of the
GNOME mailing lists, which came up in the search <google:freedesktop
"Desktop" ( directory OR folder )>

    http://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2004-December/msg00424.html

Good luck.
