Hi. Im trying to build an rpm for the first time. Not sure if Im doing
it right. I have an installable file (package.linux.sh) that you
install by simply typing that name. It contains everything to install
the package Im working with. Is that enough to create an rpm, or do I
need more? Thanks.
I don't even know where to begin, really.
From your question I'm guessing you're not even aware of what a bash
script it,
well here are some things I would do when I was in your shoes.
First find out if it's possible to install the package from source , by
that I mean am I able to download the source and install it from the
downloaded package instead of installing it from a script.
If so then you should start by reading Maximum rpm,
if not then you should start by reading Maximum rpm, and learn bash
script to figure out how the script works.
