changelog strangeness

Hello,

I'm updating a package from version 0.12 to the recently released 1.0 version.

Here's the changelog

%changelog
* Mon Jan 31 2004 Aaron Bennett <aaron.bennett@xxxxxxxx> 0:1.0-0.lvn.1
- Update to ndiswrapper version 1.0

* Fri Nov 26 2004 Thorsten Leemhuis <fedora AT leemhuis DOT info> 0:0.12-0.lvn.1
- Update to 0.12
- Trim Doc in header
- Trim description and add 4k-Warning

{snip}

When I try to build this, I get:
error: %changelog not in descending chronological order

How can this be?

We're going from:
Epoch: 0
Version: 0.12
Release: 0.lvn.1

to

Epoch: 0
Version: 1.0
Release: 0.lvn.1

Don't tell me I need to increment the Epoch? 1.0 has got to be bigger than 0.12.
