Hi,

is it possible to extract spec file from an existing RPM?

I created a number of specific private RPMs and then I lost the spec files due to HD crash. It would be a nightmare to recreate them from memory :-(

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

rpmrebuild is your friend -- it'll recreate the spec file with a command line option. All you loose is your comments, macro defs, and conditionals.

See http://rpmrebuild.sourceforge.net/

Good luck,
--Hal

p.s. cvs or subversion is _also_ your friend....
