This is silly.
How absurd. What is silly about trying to solve a problem or learn something? I've already seen the post regarding rpm requirements/dependencies vrs. distro fingerprinting and, yes, I agree with it also. I'm still curious though as a distro fingerprinting technique might come in handy someday.
This says that your kernel was compiled on a box that somehow features mandrake. If you compile your kernel yourself, it's probably gone. Also I second the statement from someone earlier, it's pointless to make assumptions about a certain distribution. One can have a mix of different distribution's rpms installed.
