Still getting severe hangs ;-(

I've been testing various rpm operations a lot lately in conjunction 
with the distribution of some software, and I notice that I still get 
the now-familiar hangs - where I have to kill -9 everything, then 
rebuilldb. This with rpm-4.2-1 from ftp://ftp.rpm.org, where I thought 
this issue was resolved. Any ideas?
