I've found the Red Hat RPM Guide book to be very useful, so thank you for it. However, there is an error of some significance on page 186, where you are discussing the NoSource: and NoPatch: directives.
You don't really provide any detail on how that directive works. It implies that you should replace the "Source#: foo.tgz" with "NoSource#: foo.tgz". Actually that was just a guess I made. The doesn't work. The actual syntax of NoSource: is:
nosource: /<src-num>/, /<src-num>/…/<src-num>
