To all who helped me with my soundcard problems; thanks a ton! All my sound problems have been satisfactorily resolved and I now can move on to the next problem (who ever said that Linux is user-friendly?) Fix was to :- i. /sbin/modprobe opl3sa2 ii. to retain setting after rebooting, added the following to /etc/modules.conf alias sound-slot-0 opl3sa2 alias synth0 op13 options op13 io=0x388 options opl3 Hope the above may help someone.
