I have been having a hard time trying to get CD Audio and Line inputs working on my new installation of RedHat 8.0 I have an Esoniq ES1370 sound card that worked previously on another installation of RedHat 8.0. After a re-format and installation, I find that I'm unable to play CD audio, or get audio through the line-input. Additionaly strange is that system sounds do work, and I can hear LinuxTorvalds voice clearly when running the sndconfig program. I've also used the System Settings | Sound Card Configuration tool, and have clearly heard the guitar chords that are played as a part of that test. I'm certain that this is a software or configuration issue, but I'm stuck and could use some help. Here are a few pertinent logs and other tasty bits that might help someone figure out what I need to do.. Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions, -Paul Mischler dmesg: es1370: version v0.37 time 00:35:49 Nov 14 2002 PCI: Found IRQ 10 for device 00:0d.0 es1370: found adapter at io 0x1400 irq 10 es1370: features: joystick off, line in, mic impedance 0 /var/messages Dec 4 16:39:52 mischy modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-226 Dec 4 16:39:52 mischy modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-226 Dec 4 16:43:33 mischy modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-0-3Dec 4 16:51:14 mischy modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1 Dec 4 16:51:14 mischy modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-service-1-0 /proc/pci Bus 0, device 13, function 0: Multimedia audio controller: Ensoniq ES1370 [AudioPCI] (rev 0).
