Gentoo uses Portage, which is better than ports (In fact, I would say its
probably the best package system out there - which is why I chose it).

My frustration with RH is not only with the shortening product cycles
(which is moot point now anyway) but also the speed of updates. On my
servers I prefer to build important stuff from source so I can do my own
updates instead of waiting for new binaries. A Gentoo-based server can be
updated from source simply by running a single command-line...
