Here is .xscreensaver file I took from my PC at home. It's name is
.xscreensaver and was located in my home directory.
May be this file was created because I use xcreensaver to run other screen
savers and I use Gnome only.
Ahhh. That would explain it ... KDE's random.kss doesn't even look for a file called .xscreensaver so it won't use it to control which (random) screensavers are used.
