mplayer would look nice but it needs a bunch of pre-requisites and I cannot figure outfor mpeg i think you should get mplayer, because i dont think i was able to play any mpeg video on a normal redhat install.
(at least not in short time) what the rpm's are that are needed to satisfy the dependences.
The mplayer home page lists many names of prerequisites, not versions or other infos...
