Thanks Justin, I have a couple of application I want to setup first
like phpgroupware and squirrelmail then I'll get started with the
answer-machine/fax stuff.

Yes, it would be nice to have voice messaging, fax, email, everything on
the Linux server so I can access my info via X application, commandline or
from the web.

Speaking of Cordless phones...
I have always been aware of the security problems with cordless
device, especially cordless phones and cell phones. If everything works out, I plan
to get rid of all of our cordless phones! You have sleuths spying on
neighbors with scanners and they don't even realize that is just as
illegal as hacking into a corporate network. Talk about hackers/phreaks, we
got little ol' ladies that don't do anything all day but listen to
their scanners and call their friends qossiping about what they hear
while monitoring cellphone and cordless phone conversations.

The Sting...
These people spying with their scanners are easy to setup. Call a
friend and confess to a murder or some criminal act. When the police
arrive, explain that it was a fake story and they need to arrest
whoever called in the complaint because they are in fact, busted;)
