Please forgive the OT post. A few months ago the top vs bottom posting debate was rehashed here. Someone posted a great link that discussed these methods of replying along with several other netiquette issues. I have tried google, and had no luck finding this link. I also tried searching the list archives, and though I think I found the thread in which the debate took place, I can't seem to find the message with the link.
I believe I posted something about RFC1855, and I think others did as well. RFC1855 is the Netiquette Guidelines informational RFC which you can find at http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1855.html, among other places.
