Thanks very much! It worked like a charm :)

Just a little question: how did you know this? do you work with kernel,
or did you read somewhere else? I'd like to know so I can check if I get
some other problems.

Mostly, examining the /var/log/messages. I noticed some messages about kernel not being able to load modules char-major-xx-yy.
