If you have not created an account with RedHat. You need to go to their
website and create it first. Then use the logon user & PW with up2date once
that has been done. You will also need a code that came with a boxset to do
that. If you don't have it, you can use APT & Synaptic to do that and keep
your system up2date with that.

Goto the website above to get APT & Synaptic (GUI).

Subject: cannot register with up2date?

the changes with redhat taking away access to up2date? i just downloaded
the new packages from https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2003-267.html

however, when i type
# up2date
to start the registration, it craps when after i submit my user name and
pw along with email address for account creation.

the error reads:

error class code 3
the user name is already taken or the password is incorrect.

i have tried several different usernames that i am 95% sure no one else
would use. i also tried multiple passwords being sure that i confirmed
them correctly.

if anyone has any thoughts on how to get this working, please help.
