Check out the man pages for "peerdns".

$ man peerdns man: Failed to open the message catalog man on the path NLSPATH=<none> No manual entry for peerdns

$ rpm -qa|grep peerdns
No response.

My apologies... I should have been perhaps a little more clear. Just don't have a lot of time right now and I figured a one-liner was better than no answer at all. The package you need is pppd, already installed. Also, there is some information on this in the initscripts documentation inside /usr/share/doc. To wit:

$ man pppd
Look in there for DNS and "usepeerdns".

$ less /usr/share/doc/initscripts-7.14/sysconfig.txt
Look in there for "PEERDNS" and note that your initscripts version may be different from mine, so you may need to substitute "7.14" for something else.
