Careful. The OP may be running in runlevel 3; you don't specifically know that changing the links in rc5.d will solve the problem. Also, as I posted recently, I don't think changing the links directly is the best way; better to change the chkconfig parameter in /etc/init.d/network and use chkconfig to recreate _all_ the links properly.
