I can't beleive there's no other way - as was pointed out, you should have 2 separate lans, otherwise you're just fooling yourself. however, linux can be made to play along, if you insist.

Ok, after playing around for a while, I just putted the 2 NIC on separate logical networks...didn't find another solution.

too bad you didn't try iproute, it would probably do what you wanted.


but anyway, glad it all turned out OK
