i don't think so.  if you check the few additional RPMs at arjan's
page, they're all backwards compatible AFAIK.  many people have gone
this route -- this has been an ongoing thread on the severn list for
quite some time.

no problem there, i've been doing it for a while.  i posted a
HOWTO a while back, it's pretty easy.  you'll want to visit
www.minion.de for the patch for 2.5/2.6 kernels.

wimp ... uh, i mean, yeah, better safe than sorry. :-)  seriously,
even if the test kernel doesn't work fully for you, i'm unaware of
any issues that would stop you from just rebooting under the
2.4 kernel.
