hello friends, I have been using wvdial to connect to internet from my modem connection. My modem is initialized but I get something like "no Carrier" $tail -f /var/log/messages Aug 6 12:10:32 localhost pppd[2619]: Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0 root@xxxxxxxxx root]# wvdial BSNL --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.53 --> Initializing modem. --> Sending: ATZ ATZ OK --> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 OK --> Modem initialized. --> Sending: ATDT172233 --> Waiting for carrier. The same settings work in the windows, where there I see one more option of prefix 91 for India, but even if I write a Prefix =91 in the /etc/wvdial.conf file, it does not work. Can someone help? Thanks a Lot, I am facing a good deal of problem but am trying very hard to solve it. Regards, Rebel __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
