I think that Josh is right (I attached his replay below) - my modem probably is not supported by Linux. I have forgotten to mention earlier that I have the dual boot machine with systems: RHL 9 and Windows 2000. Under Windows 2000 my modem works fine and I have no problems with it, so it isn't broken. When I run 'redhat-config-network' and it probes for modems, it displays the message: "No modem was found on your system" although kudzu detects it: > > - > > class: MODEM > > bus: PCI > > detached: 0 > > driver: unknown > > desc: "Conexant|HSF 56k Data/Fax/Voice/Spkp (w/Handset) Modem (WorldW > > SmartDAA)" > > vendorId: 14f1 > > deviceId: 2045 > > subVendorId: 14f1 > > subDeviceId: 2045 > > pciType: 1 > > - Luke. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Aaron Konstam" <akonstam@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, August 04, 2003 4:25 AM Subject: Re: I can't make my modem work > On Sun, Aug 03, 2003 at 03:50:08PM +0200, Lukasz Dorau wrote: > > Hi > > > > I have the problem - I can't make my modem work.
