 not that it helps the RH 9 folks much, but we're having a very
animated discussion on the severn beta list about the 2.6.0-test 
kernel.  in fact, a number of the severn folks are running that
kernel now.  i've been running the 2.5.xy series for quite some
time now, and i'm pretty happy with it.

 give the pre-release kernel a try.  at worst, it won't work
properly, and you can go back to the 2.4.
