IDE CD-RW access without SCSI emulation -- solved!

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

not sure this really needed the 2.6.0-test1 kernel, but i
just burned a CD without the SCSI emulation module, whoo hoo!

on a dell laptop with a DVD reader/CD-RW, i booted without
the "hdb=ide-scsi" kernel parm, and

  # cdrecord dev=/dev/hdb -inq # to scan
  # cdrecord dev=/dev/hdb blah.iso	# to burn

this is using cdrecord-2.0-6; as i read it, you need cdrecord >= 2.0.
there is apparently no need for all that "dev=ATAPI:" nonsense that's
been floating around.
