The easiest way by far is to just go to apt.freshrpms.net and download
the apt rpm for Red Hat 9. Matthias has set up a very nice repository
with quite a few indispensible applications. Using apt-get means you
don't have to take notes, the program does the dependencies for you. And
synaptic gives you a nice graphical front-end for the whole process.
