Well to answer my own question there are a bunch of modules such as pam and python that need libdb-4.0.so. I guess I need to rpm -Fvh --force... to the new version of db4, then recompile pam with the new libraries, too. -----Forwarded Message----- From: Robert L Cochran <cochranb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: Shrike List <shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: DB-4.1.25 (aka db4-4.1.25) Date: 13 Jul 2003 13:14:21 -0400 I'm building db-4.1.25 (downloaded from Sleepycat Software) into rpm's by borrowing the SPEC file from the Red Hat-packaged db4-4.0.14-20 and modifying that. That's the Red Hat 9 version. Then will install the upgraded db4* stuff on my test machine. That machine is running a 2.5.74 kernel. All a prelude to building the Berkeley dbxml product since db-4.1.25 is a depency for dbxml. Does anyone know what Red Hat packages, if any, upgrading to db-4.1.25 will break?
