Guru Labs posted a technical review of Red Hat 9 ages ago which briefly discusses Oracle on Red Hat 9: http://www.gurulabs.com/RedHatLinux9-review.html They simply say that Oracle and Red Hat 9 don't work well together. Note: this web page doesn't seem to have been recently updated with new information, if any. Guru Labs indicates one option is using Red Hat Linux 8 for Oracle. Just be aware that Red Hat 8 comes to the end of it's life cycle on December 31, 2003.
