The Reported error was:
mount: special device /dev/cdrom does not exist

I had similar problems, during the beta phase. I had to manually edit my /etc/fstab file and specify the CD-RW as /dev/sdc0. It would burn CDRs alright. But it couldn't be mounted and the disk read, before the change.

In my case, I had to remove the kudzu reference also. Otherwise, it would be changed to /dev/hdd, when the machine was booted again.

It would still make a new entry into the fstab file and call it /dev/hdd again. But it would be /mnt/cdrom2 or higher.

The other two postings were pretty helpful. I am guessing that your dvd is being called using the wrong device type. I'm also guessing that using /dev/scd0 for the DVD would get it working again.

Why would I be getting this error and how can I fix it or how can I go about trouble shooting
