Start it from the console, and see if there are errors or warnings. Perhaps some application has /dev/dsp locked? (such as the sound server.) Did you check the configure output to make sure that you saw: checking for Mix_OpenAudio in -lSDL_mixer... yes If it says "no" you won't have sound. Also, make sure your volume is turned up. It seems to default to a very low level. With my speakers turned up all the way, sound was barely audible. After adjusting it via the mixer, it was fine. - -- - -Michael pgp key: http://www.tuxfan.homeip.net:8080/gpgkey.txt Red Hat Linux 7.{2,3}|8.0 in 8M of RAM: http://www.rule-project.org/ - -- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE+yD/ln/07WoAb/SsRAqdsAJ9OXhsXhm+PFqhltl6YWKhHELDsNACffCJW RzQticRYN6ZhEobLW7cu2Vc= =v2yG -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
