In my previous post, I should have suggested that you use
redhat-config-mouse to set your mouse to Wheel Mouse (USB).  Mouse
configuration is covered in section 3.14 of the Installation Guide on
the RHL9 Documentation CD, or at
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/
