Sorry if I over simplified. I did read the post. But then I assumed... oops my bad... I take it back... Never assume.
But seriously: There is a windows version of Mozilla. Installing it is not rocket science; but your sister should get help for the install.
My real point was that: "Several MS "security updates" have drawn criticism... ... ..."
IOW, what used to work has stopped working.
