I don knw what is a name caching server. All i knw is i use to run internet without writing ips in the browser on my laptop with 7.3 Now its 9 and giving probs
if u say i ll try by removing that line also.but i have seen its on all the machines on the LAN.
Yes, i guess so firewall is running but shd nt matter...earlier i was able to access internet firewall was running then also

thx m confused...

rst. Are you running a caching-only name server locally? If not, you
need to remove that line. (If you ARE running a local name server, you
might try removing that line anyway to make sure.)

Also, do you have a firewall runing? Normally, the initscripts will
automatically 'punch holes' in the firewall for your DNS servers, but
something could be wrong with that.

P.S. Yes, I saw a bunch of messages recently from some idiot
demonstrating his ability to copy and paste the f-word.
