Why is OOo messing text display?

Hello,
please have a look at the attached screenshot, taken on vanilla Red
Hat Linux 9, OOo 1.02 from RH rpms, fluxbox window manager.

Why is the text messed up in that way? It has been happening several
times today. Never mind what it says: I noticed the problem while
working on a private file, and just pasted in something I could send
online. For the record:

no other app shows this effect
it didn't change scrolling back and forth with pgup/pgdown
it is disappeared now (putting a whole new window in front of
      OOo's)
I sent a cropped screenshot to make the attachment as small as
possible, I'm not even sure if the list SW will let *this* pass...

TIA,
	Marco Fioretti

Real Programmers don't play tennis, or any other sport that requires
you to change clothes. Mountain climbing is OK, and real programmers
wear their climbing boots to work in case a mountain should suddenly
spring up in the middle of the machine room.
