What sort of serial port hardware do you have? If you could see what that process is up to (using strace, for instance), that would be helpful.
Pass - it's an A-Bit BP6 dual Cel.; I'd have to check what the serial/USB chipset it.
I'll give the backend proc. a strace during a restart & see what it gets up to.
