I'm trying to connect to a mysql server on our local network from the colocated one. And the server is responding with that error "can't connect from www.sited.com". Which is correct, on the sql server we don't allow the alias to connect, we just allow the *real* IP address 192.168.1.10. I'm pretty sure this isn't a problem with mysql or our firewall because the only change we made was an upgrade to redhat 9. It's not a critical error and there is a workaround (just open up ports/access for the IP address and it's aliases) but I'd still like to know what's going on. --Ajay On Wed, 4 Jun 2003, ___cliff rayman___ wrote: > what program are you trying to connect "out" from? > > Ajay Sharma wrote: > > >eth0 -> 192.168.1.10 (www.sitea.com) > > > >eth0:3 -> 192.168.1.13 (www.sited.com) > > > > > >I'm wondering why the traffic is going out as 192.168.1.13 when it > >should be using eth0 and 192.168.1.10??
