Have you tried with ALSA-enabled and OSS-enabled programs?
After upgrading to 2.5.70-mm4, I found that all my ALSA-enabled programs
weren't able to access my sound card. I had to run "snddevices" script
from the alsa-driver package to recreate the ALSA sound devices.
