...And before we even get that far, has anyone been able to produce a reasonable kernel config file for Red Hat 9 under 2.5.70? I'm still struggling with this compiling. What I did that doesn't work: 1) Unpack 2.5.70 2) cd /usr/src/linux-2.5.70 3) cp/usr/src/linux-2.4/configs/kernel-2.4.20-i686.config ./.config 4) make oldconfig (and accept all of the defaults) 5) make ...and it fails. I've tried correcting modules along the way, but it's just tedious. Anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? This is my first time compiling a 2.5 series kernel and I'm afraid I am a bit rusty...
