KDE 3.1.2 and ALSA are not from Red Hat Linux 9.

By examining your HOME directory closely, in particular
$HOME/Desktop, because KDE desktop folders are created there by
default. As a last resort, use the command-lines "find $HOME | less"
or "ls -laR $HOME | less" and watch for your files.
