Can you cat files mounted on that NFS parition? If so, you can read them. Try touching a file on that NFS file system to see if you can write to it. Also try touching a file on the location that you want to write to. That will veryify the simple stuff. Other than that, make sure you have portmapper turned on and there are no firewall rules that are causing wierd errors.
