Manually adding apps to the gnome menus isn't that difficult. See
http://www.bluethingy.com/linux/rh8menu.html. The info there is still
valid for RHL 9, and I've recently added some info on moving/creating
*.desktop files in ~/.gnome2/vfolders/applications to make user-level
menu changes.
