Re: Good Nvidia Based Card - Anyone??

All video cards with a NVidia chipset, no matter what, from Riva TNT to ti4600 (and probably beyond) are supported by one and the same driver, available from www.nvidia.com. It even works without that driver, but only software rendering, no openGL. Brand/model does not matter at all.

I suggest sticking to the more well-known brands though, who knows what junk components those small companies have placed next to the Nvidia chip ;)

The main reason why I'm such a strong Nvidia supporter is their Linux support. Other cards may be better in performance, but it's no use if I can't run my UT2003 or Quake3 on it below 100fps :D

Hello Again,

Just a follow-up question to yesterdays post; If I buy a GeForce4 Ti 4200
based card, does it matter what manufacturer I buy for the Nvidia based
drivers to work?

I apologize for the all the questions, but we've been an ATI house so long,
that we never really had to think about this stuff before.
