The mozilla version that rh9 includes uses the gtk2 libraries (which has aa thru pango), where as the default toolkit for mozilla is gtk1 (which does not have aa fonts). Looking at the spec file for rh9's mozilla you will see they include these options with the configure command: ./configure <your other options> --enable-default-toolkit=gtk2 --disable-freetype2 --enable-xft ps, if u prefer using binaries or src.rpm's you can also find those here: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/experimental/gtk2/2003-04-18-07-tr unk (date dir is the most recent one as i write this, but use the most recent) Enjoy, -- Chris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gregory Gulik" <greg@xxxxxxxxx> To: <shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, April 19, 2003 20:40 Subject: Upgraded Mozilla and lost anti-aliased fonts. > > I just intalled Mozilla 1.4a under /usr/local then changed the > /usr/bin/mozilla script to run that but the first thing I noticed is I > lost the nice anti-aliased fonts. > > I looked around and couldn't figure out why the new version doesn't use > the better fonts. > > Any ideas? > > > -- > Greg Gulik http://www.gulik.org/greg/ > greg@xxxxxxxxx > > > > > -- > Shrike-list mailing list > Shrike-list@xxxxxxxxxx > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/shrike-list >
