Where can I find the complete description of your problem?
Was it this one (quoted above)?

If so, it sounds like misbehaviour, because a) you write "update"
(= upgrade?) and b) I would not expect an upgrade to format existing
partitions. Though, you didn't mention whether you had the chance to
verify the partition settings or anything like that.

Or maybe you should create an entirely new thread instead of mentioning
your problem as a reply in a thread called:
"ATHLON & Shrike - *imperfect* alliance=random lockups?"
